The NGO World under RIDA project managed five days Rugs Making Training for local women and girls of Shahdra village in rural Islamabad. The purpose of the training was to give income generating skills to the women so that they could earn a sustainable livelihood. During five days, participants were given lectures and practical knowledge of making rugs and various other similar item that have demand in market.
On third day of training Ms. Samina Saeed (official of a semi government project) visited and examined the items being made by participants. She was very much impressed by practical activities and quality of products. She admired the effort and interest of participants.
On successful completion of training our chief guest Madam Saeeda Begum (Sadee Welfare) distributed certificates among the participants. in her speech she appreciated the quality of training and products made. She added that with little improvement these participants can earn a lot by selling their products in market and support their livelihood.
This successful and productive training course was due to appreciable team effort of vocational trainer (Madam Bushra Begum) and coordinator RIDA project (Ms. Somaira kiani).
