TNW Closing ceremony of ‘Volunteer In Service Program 2018’

 

The NGO World (TNW) and Capital University of Science & Technology (CUST) has a working relationship with each other for the betterment of society through volunteerism. This is the second time when CUST students came to do volunteer service under the supervision of TNW.

The NGO World has launched Volunteer in Service Program in coordination with Capital University of Science and Technology Islamabad on 16th July 2018.  24 students of CUST were participated in TNW’s volunteer in-service program from 16 July to 07th August 2018. Students were provided opportunity to get sessions on Communication Skills, Presentation Skills, Report Writing Skills, Youth 4 SDGs and Youth Social Entrepreneurship from Mr. Atiq Mirza, Mr. Zafar Iqbal and Mr. Sajjad Nayyer. To get a taste of real situation and ground realities, students were given tasks for fieldwork. The purpose of fieldwork was to get hands-on experience of social work.

On 07th August 2018, the closing ceremony was organized for students. Executive director TNW, Mr. Zafar Iqbal, and Mr. Atiq Mirza were the guests of the honour. Mr. Zafar Iqbal asked all students about their social work experience at TNW and what they like most during this period? Most of the students shared that sessions on communication and presentation skills were very beneficial for them. They learned a lot. Secondly, they liked the field work. They said that they never did social work in the field before this, but this provided them a great opportunity.

Sir Atiq Mirza advised them to carry this momentum up and continue this spirit and passion with them in future as well. TNW is always there to support them.

In the end, all volunteers were awarded certificates for their service.
