October 13, 2022; On invitation from Mr. Zafar Iqbal (chairman of The NGO World Founation), Consul General of Turkiye in Karachi, Mr. Cemal Sangu graced the ceremony organized to appreciate 200 teachers and staff of ZEST Education Project Karachi who are doing exceptional service of teaching out of school children through Nonformal Education. He said “Turkish organizations are supporting various projects in Pakistan but teaching the underserved children is the most valuable project”…. Mr. Cemal Sangu appreciated the hard-working teachers and delivered certificates to the high achievers. Representatives of Turkiye Diyanet Vakfi along with community members also participated in the program. Through this Project, The NGO World Foundation has targeted 10,000 out-of-school children to bring back to the Educational journey and it has become possible with coordination and cooperation from the Directorate of Literacy & Nonformal Education Government of Sindh and JICA Pakistan. Generous and continued support from Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı is one of the most important success factors.
Mr. Zafar Iqbal in his speech highlighted the success and integrated approach of the ZEST project that is creating the desired impact on the lives of children. He said teachers learning behavior, hard work and dedication have made it easy for us to reshape the lives of children. He also acknowledged the participation of the Community, parents, and other stakeholder’s CV valuable input in making this project successful and productive.
Guests from Turkiye Diyanet Vakfi Mr.Mustafa Erdem and Mr.Omer Faruk Uyan, Provincial Coordinator JICA AQAL, Mr. Prem Sagar, and G.M The Citizen Foundation Mr. Tahir Abbasi also participated to appreciate the teachers.
The teachers and students performed various activities like Speeches, Tableau,s and dramas to highlight the importance of education and the role of The NGO World Foundation.
