[vc_row 0=””][vc_column][vc_column_text 0=””]The NGO World’s ZEST project (Non-Formal Education) is now the successful model for all to learn and replicate. Many organizations, social workers and university students visiting ZEST project area to learn. Students of Social Work department of Karachi University, under the supervision and leadership of Dr. Shahid, Chairman SWD KU, visited the ZEST schools.

The aim of the visit is to understand the field work experience of Social Work students in the ZEST schools’ Non-Formal education of The NGO World. The visit explored students:

• Perceptions of local social work practice.
• Challenges faced in their fieldwork.
• lessons learnt from the teachers and students.

Mr. Shakeel Ahmed, Program Manager, ZEST TNW hosted the visit. He paid his gratitude to Dr. Shahid and all students to visit. He gave project and organization’s orientation to the students. He also shared the process of initiating ZEST schools, process of identification and hiring of teachers and students. Also described the challenges faced by TNW. He told that the key of this project is strong community mobilization and engagement of community.

Dr. Shahid, Chairman Social Work Department KU addressed the students, ZEST teachers and students. He appreciated the hard work and commitment of TNW team in education sector. He said that TNW providing best and quality education to these underprivileged and unserved community.

Students had discussion with teachers and ZEST students. They asked questions related to importance of education. Students were really impressed by the knowledge and confidence of students and teachers. They told that they are very talented and can compete with any other school. Students also showed their interest in doing research.
