Building Bridges: NGO World and Sindh Government Partner for Education

The NGO World Foundation has joined hands with the Directorate of Literacy and Non-Formal Education, part of the Government of Sindh, to enhance education accessibility in the region. This partnership, sealed through a Letter of Understanding signed on March 19, 2024, is a significant step towards the ZEST Project, which focuses on providing non-formal education opportunities.

The goal is clear: to make sure everyone, especially those left out by regular schooling, gets a chance to learn. By teaming up with the government, The NGO World hopes to make a real difference in communities across Sindh, breaking down barriers to education and spreading knowledge far and wide.

The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Chairman of The NGO World Foundation, Mr. Zafar Iqbal, and Director of Literacy and Non-Formal Education, Dr. Aftab Ahmed Shaikh. H.E Camal Sangu, Consul General of Turkiye in Karachi, graced the occasion as the guest of honor, along with representatives from the donor organization, Turkiye Diyanet Vakfi, and other dignitaries like Mr. Abdul Hameed Shaikh from the Social Work Department of the Sindh government.

Dr. Aftab Ahmed Shaikh commended The NGO World’s efforts in non-formal education, acknowledging their contribution to addressing the issue of out-of-school children. Mr. Zafar Iqbal expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, including donors, the Directorate, and JICA Pakistan, for their support in implementing the ZEST Project. H.E Camal Sangu assured ongoing support from the people of Turkiye to uplift deprived communities in Pakistan.

This collaboration represents a promising step towards a more inclusive and educated society in Sindh.
