Minister for Literacy & NBFE Punjab visited ZEST Schools Project

A delegation under the leadership of Raja Rashid Hafeez (Minister) and Ms. Sumaira Samad (Secretary) Govt. of Punjab, Literacy & NFBE Department, visited Non Formal Education Centres in Karachi, Sindh. These Nonformal Schools are run by THE NGO WORLD in collaboration with JICA , GEAR and Directorate of Literacy and Nonformal Education Government of Sindh.
JICA coordinated this learning visit to show these NFE centres as case study. Delegation was keen to know the details and replicate the success factors in Punjab Province.
Director Literacy and Nonformal Education Sindh Mr. Muhammad Alam Thaheem briefed the delegation about process steps involved for execution, monitoring and evaluation.
Delegates visited a NFE Centre in Korangi district and interacted with students. Young students presented welcome note and a performance that was appreciated by the minister and other members of his delegation.
Ms. Sumaira Samad, Secretary, Govt. of Punjab, Literacy & NFBE Department also wrote her encouraging remarks for the successful implementation of Nonformal Education Program by The NGO World.

At the end of visit Chairman of THE NGO WORLD Mr. Zafar Iqbal thanked the delegation and offered the services of his organisation to the department for promotion of Non Formal Education in Punjab and bringing out of school children back to educational journey.
