Disaster Management Exhibition 2011

On 20-21 April 2011, a two days Disaster Management Exhibition was arranged by Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management (CDPM), University of the Peshawar in collaboration with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and United Nation Development Program (UNDP). The purpose of the exhibition was to appreciate the efforts of various organizations and line agencies that have carried out their work in the field of disaster management.

The NGO World Pakistan also participated in the Disaster Management Exhibition 2011 with an objective to develop coordination with humanitarian and government agencies working in the field of disaster management.

The NGO World set up a significant stall in the exhibition to highlight its humanitarian relief efforts and models of The NGO World field projects were shown in the event to give an idea about the organization’s interventions especially during 2010 floods in Pakistan.

Following models were shown:

  • Feeder school model
  • Household Carpet Industry Shed model
  • Biosand water filter
  • Sobewala village
  • Model house

On the same time all project brochures and sample NFI items were also displayed.

Total 61 local and international NGOs like Islamic Relief, UNICEF, UNHCR, UN-Habitat, ACTED, IOM, NRSP, PRCS, and Rescue 1122 participated in the exhibition.

The NGO World received valuable feedback on its activities by the visitors attending the exhibition.
